Welcome to Canadian Firearms Blog.

Who am I?   I’m a thirty-something named Paul that lives in Ontario.  I am married and have a 7 year old.   In the past year I have undertaken my required firearms licensing, safety courses, IPSC Black-badge.

I’m hoping to use this blog to recount my experiences entering and evolving within the realm of sporting firearms within Canada.    By sharing my experiences, I hope to further this type of sport and related disciplines within Canada and make the process as easy as possible for newcomers to the sport.

Outsiders may wonder why the Canadian spin.  Simply put, firearms are taboo here.  As “outsiders” (being those that have nothing to do with firearms for hunt or sporting and are solely informed by the media and Hollywood), firearms are weapons with the sole design and goal to kill people.  This message is then hammered home by the politicians and the media as the result of desperate acts, committed by dangerous or sick people framing firearms as the boogie man. This is a message has been echoed to me personally by friends, co-workers and family members.

I hope to change this.
